 Is Owning a Car a Good Idea?

Many people tend to have at least a car in their families. I do not think that owning a car is such a good idea. There are some reasons why I think that.

First of all, cars are expensive to run. For example, car owners have to pay for registration, insurance and maintenance. They also need to pay for petrol which can cost up to $2 a litre these days.

Another reason is that cars cause a lot of pollution. In big cities where there are many cars, the environment is usually polluted because of the exhaust. This is harmful to the environment and people’s health.

Finally, many car owners rely on their cars to go everywhere and do very little exercise. As a result, many of them tend to become very lazy, often gain weight and become unfit.

In conclusion, cars cost a lot to run and they cause pollution. Also car owners do not exercise much, so they become unhealthy. I personally think people should take other means of public transport.
